Zhu ni ‘Shangri Kuaile!’… Yep, I’m 40 now (and it doesn’t hurt.. ;-)
Last year I could actually pretend it wasn’t my birthday, but this year there was no stopping it…. Actually, there’s still more to come this weekend! When I was in the teachers’ office this morning, one of my students came in to give me a big, big hug and a gift for my birthday. For your information: I told the students NOT to give me a gift, but if they insisted, I wanted something I could give to the children in the YWI. I have all I need and also…. how to take it all back to Holland when I leave??? Anyway, when I got back home I opened my gift… books I could indeed give to the children at the Institute and a short note. It’s the note I would like to share with you.
Hi Marlies,
Happy Birthday!!!
I’m so luck to know you. Maybe this will be your only birthday I can be with you. So it means so much to me. I don’t know if you will still remmeber me in ten years. But I’m sure you will always be in my heart for the rest of my life. I don’t know what to say at this moment. Just a word “Dear, have a most wonderful birthday today!” Love you very, very, very… much!!!
Love you forever,
ZD
Guess I do not need to tell you which was the best gift of the two…..
